Burns' Night Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Burns’ Night Blog Hop brought to you by Love, Lust and Lipstick Stains.

Today we are celebrating all things Scottish – from a wee dram to mega hot highland heroes. Other than some great posts and a lot of fun there are some amazing prizes up for grabs.

1 x $50 Amazon Gift Card

5 x $10 Amazon Gift Cards

I was lucky enough to visit Scotland years ago. I fell in love with its history and beauty. The highlands are just breathtaking as is the rest of the landscape which is dotted with castles and ancient ruins. One day, with a little luck, I’ll be able to go again.

But instead of my travel log ramblings and as we are celebrating Burns’ Night, I thought I would share one of my favourite poems – A Red Red Rose by the bard himself.

O my Luve's like a red, red rose
That’s newly sprung in June;
O my Luve's like the melodie
That’s sweetly play'd in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I:
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry:

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun:
I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare thee well, my only Luve
And fare thee well, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ it were ten thousand mile.

Don’t forget to enter the Rafflecopter to be in with a chance to win one of the great main prizes.

Below is the blurb from my latest medieval fantasy, Rain (alas not set in Scotland).

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the hop.

Rain

1216 AD

Nuri is caught between heaven and hell. Two men fight for her love and her soul. The first is Maras, an elemental being who follows the storms. The second is Brother Erebus, a pious monk whose tortured soul is twisted by his desire for her. But Nuri may sacrifice more than her heart when the Church brands her angel a demon. As Brother Erebus will do anything to protect her soul from the silver haired devil, even if he has to crush her body to do it.

  3. So glad I decided to follow this tour, Nicole, because I "met" you for the first time. I went to Amazon and got Capturing Bliss and Trinket Seller's Daughter for starters. I love historical romances best of all romances, and Scots stories even better...but have to wait on those more often than medieval or regency...so I'm patient. I was lucky enough to visit Scotland also...for four lovely days in 1986. I'll never forget it! Thanks for participating in the tour and for this post. jdh2690@gmail.com

    1. Hi Janice! Thank you so much for buying my books. Trinket Seller's was my very first book and I have a bit of a soft spot for Capturing Bliss. I hope you enjoy them. :) I love reading historical romances as well, it's my favourite genre (no surprise there!). Thanks for saying hello.

    1. Hi Catherine, I have to admit it one of those poems that always makes me sigh. :)

  5. I love historical romance but I've never read a Scots one. Weird huh? Seeing I'm from there? I wanted to ask: is that castle the one on the Lake of Menteith where Mary Queen of Scots stayed? It looks familiar and it's bugging me as I know I've been there. Happy Burns Night!

    1. Hi Storm, I'm not 100% sure but I think it's Eilean Donan Castle rather than the Inchmahone Priory. :) Happy Burns Night to you!
